Hello! I've got a bit of a mystery that I'm hoping this site could solve. I found an old camera in my basement that's dated Dec 21st, 1901. Does anyone know what type of camera this might be? I'm new to this website, so please let me know if there is any more information I could give that would help. Thank you!

      I think that's a Kodak Model No. 3 or 3A

Your camera is a No.3 Folding Pocket Kodak (1900 - 1915). It shot 12 pictures 3¼ x 4¼ inches on 118 rollfilm. Over 288,000 were made during its 15+ years and sold for $17.50 when first introduced.

Your concealed shutter version (mechanics are inside the lens board) was offered from 1900 to 1903 and is more desirable to collectors. A more traditional external shutter was made from 1903 onward. More than likely, this is a Model A or AB. Kodak engraved model information inside the back.

Oh, thank you! Rniederman, I looked at the back and you were right, it's a Model AB.
