I have this set tools as seen in the photos. All steel cones and shafts with wood handles. There are no manufacturing marks anywhere on the tools. The cones look like they were all subjected to heat possibly in their use. I am fairly certain that these are not used for soldering as the working tips are steel . I have used the hand held soldering irons to repair old radiators and terneplate motorcycle gas tanks and the working part that tool is always copper. Sure would like to know their intended purpose.

Do you think possible boilermakers tools for flaring the tubing at the end of each sheet?

They have replaceable tips so they were probably made for commercial use as opposed to home owner tool. Most people today never saw a flaring tool or if they did it was a cold crank tool. Couple or more years ago pipes and tubing were made of lead which will do nothing but split when you try to flare it without heat. You only need 600 degrees for lead. These may also have been used on other low melt pipe or tubing for any number of applications. I can't see the pictures close up but I am guessing they are flaring tools. I have modern ones but these probably predate me.

I worked on boilers .. chinked them, cut out old tubes on them, and replaced them as well as heat exchanges .. maybe these are for copper pipes ...or lead ... ????.
