Much lighter than the previous sad irons, also you didn't need to put them on top the stove to heat them up. That would be a big advantage on a hot summer day. These were made from 1929 to 1948 in a variety of colors. This one was known as the Cool Blue. It was considered a bit expensive in the depression which is perhaps why Coleman went into the camping business.

Just for the record, Coleman was still selling the gas irons in 1981, not sure about all the colors.
