Here is a Reading Premium Beer Light that I picked up a few months ago from another collector that I know. It was made for the Reading Brewing Company located in Reading, PA to advertise Reading Premium Beer. These signs were usually hung from the ceiling over the bar, on the bar backs, over the doors, or in the windows. It is very eye catching especially when it is lite-up.
It is made of an aluminum light box with 3 florescent light tubes spaced out horizontally inside the box. The graphic consists of 2 pieces; a plastic semi-transparent reflector (similar to a tail light of a car) and a piece of thick plexiglass with the colored graphics on it. This beer light is in very good condition for it's age, usually you find them with faded colors on the plexiglass or damage to the face.
The Reading Brewing Company also made 2 other signs similar to this one to advertise other beers they had. One was for PR 8 (Pale Reserve 8 oz) and the other was for Bergheim Beer. The Bergheim light is by far the rarest and hardest to find. The Sunshine Brewing Company also of Reading, PA made similar signs too to compete with Reading's signs in the bars and taverns.
I am very happy to add this piece to my collection.
Thanks for looking!
