Would love to come across these every day!
Picked up this 'matched set' of photos in the original Kinsey folder recently. Two silver gelatin 10"x14" prints taken at a cement processing plant from back in the day - 1915 to 1920 range, we figure. The locomotive is a Porter 0-4-0 I'm told and the steam shovel is a Bucyrus 120. The train crew is the same in both photos and the negatives were consecutively numbered, so it appears likely that Kinsey rode the train to the limestone quarry, then rode it back to the crushing facility where the second photo was taken. Best of all, the condition of both prints is just superb with almost no sign of handling!
Took a scan and sent it to the museum in Concrete, WA for their use (they had not seen the images), which I would hope most folks here would do if they come across historically important material.
My question is: can anyone help to date this photo better by the make/model of automobile in the foreground?
