I purchased this quilt approx. 25 yrs ago at an estate sale
    Evanston WY. USA

85 yr old aunt had just been moved to rest home.
This quilt was found in a basement trunk. It was wrapped up in an draw string cotton dry cleaning bag, still wrapped in wedding paper.

Must have been made for, or given as, a wedding gift.
My best guess it's approx 90-100 years old.

Touching Star pattern i think it's called
    4' '7" x 5' 9"
Covers a full size mattress with about a 6" drop.

    Excellent condition!
    No wear
    No tears
    No stains.
    100% perfect hand stitching.

    Calico and floral prints
    Mostly pastel
No two stars are the same....

I having been using for show in the guest bedroom. I've rinsed it twice, in a tub of cold water just to get the dust off.

    Perfect!

I would like any information on this quilt. Age? Value? Details on description?

I can not give you a value or age for your quilt , but I can tell you this much . If it is old as you suggest . Instead of rinsing it in a tub of cold water to get the dust off . It would be better to use a brush on the end of a vacum cleaner and vacum it gently to get the dust off . It was good that it was found in a cloth bag and wrapped in paper . If you ever need to store it the best way is on a bed . If it is folded you will need to refold it from time to time to keep creases from forming . If you have to store it elsewhere it is best to use acid free tissue paper made into a roll and put into the folds and then put the quilt into the cloth bag . Also keep it out of direct sunlight as that can cause it to fade .

Don't store it in any kind of wood either. Buy an acid free box with acid free tissue to store it in. I don't fold I roll or use acid free tubes (like paper towel tubes) in the box so you don't get fold lines. Very valuable, especially since you know the history. I would get it appraised by a professional and insure it.

Your quilt fabric looks a lot like feed sack fabric from the 30's?
When I enlarge your pics I get small ones again, is there anyway you can upload close ups, I would like to inspect the fabrics and stitches. thanks, I love your quilt.

Also, there is no pattern called touching star, this is a basic 6-point star pattern, as opposed to a classic 8-point star, with flower garden centers. There is one on ebay right now for sale. This pattern was popular in the 30's, when quilt patterns were printed in newspapers. Again, the feed sack were a major source of fabric at that times, and white cotton feed sack muslin. I would guestimate your quilt to be from that era. I love it.
