Any information on restoring? Is it worth the work? Someone gave it to us about 25 years ago and we are trying to decide what to do with it. Thanks

Thank you, nutsabotas6! I sincerely appreciate your comment! Trying to find out how to renew it!

The biggest issue is that the capacitors (an electronic component) were made with an electrolyte liquid inside of them that can dry out over time, especially if it is from the late 1940's-1950's.

Some of the resistors can drift over time and become noisy too. Schematics are available online. The model number is usually on a paper label inside and/or on the back. Once restored, they can continue to give years of great music.

For now, resist plugging it in as the results can be very detrimental.

Definitely a beautiful radio. If you plan to flip it I would just sell it as is. Time counts as money and the time and money it may take will probably be more than what it is worth. Restoration tends to be more for fun than profit.
I could be mistaken, could be an easy fix. Looks to be in very good condition from the outside.

Beautiful radio! I hope you can get it operational again. I just love how things from this era were made to last.
