This little jem was found at a recycle centre a few years ago !! Its expertly hand carved on three sides mainly people with trees ,you can even see the faces , eyes/noses /mouths even the patterns on the clothes ,two of the carvings run along the length and one top to bottom which is the lid of this cute little secret box !! If you didnt know it was a lid you could mistake it for just a carving..its 4" high 1 3/4 widest and made from a light teak coloured wood & is very light in weight,
it is signed in what I think is chinese?? Which I copied onto the paper as is too faint to photograph , I love this little box and am sure some of you will to !!! ;-)
Thanks to lisasround2 for the link which explains it all!!
It's a miniature Chinese coffin & by the look of it is missing the little ivory chappie that's supposed to be inside , but I think I've got one kicking around here somewhere ready for his new home :-) LOL
    I can't believe the price it's up for ...

I'm not sure. I think if they just stop posting their posts are left. If they 'unsubscribe' I think all their posts go. Sometimes it's a real loss....like losing a reference book. I still miss Greatsnowyowl!
