Unusual Antique Ornate Stone Set Victorian Raj Tiger Claw Pendant Set on Vermeil and Silver. I cannot see if the stones are genuine but the pearl is genuine because I make the rub teeth test. The Rubin or Garnet and two Emeralds are rose cut faceted as you can see on photo 3.
So it probably: Rubin of Garnet, a seed pearl, two turquoises and two little emeralds.
This pendant show various user traces which is not surprising given the age. Not hallmarked but fully tested and guaranteed to be vermeil/silver.
Measurements: 1.8 inches (4.5 cm) in length by 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) in width. Claw shows natural imperfections.
This tiger is forever enshrined in silver with traces in vermeil. The collision of the British with the mystical Indian empire brought about exotic changes in jewelry. One was those shifts focused on the use of tiger claws.
This antique tiger claw pendant has a weight of 6 Gr.
Condition: Very good; general light wear; the claw is a natural material with subtle variations in color and texture and has some natural darkening on the inside upper area.
Date & Origin: unknown and probably British Raj in origin.
