Hello everyone.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago from the Salvos for $15.00. I thought it was really pretty and different to other things I have.
I could see marks on the back so thought it must have been silver. It wasn't till I got home and researched that I found it was a Franklin Mint piece from 1976!!
I must admit I am impressed by the quality of the piece.....the chain that is on it is 83? silver and a hallmark I have not seen before.
I actually do like this piece and will wear it on a not so chunky chain I think.
Any thoughts on the maker of the chain???
Thanks, Judy
Hiya Judy - nice buy! I almost never see any silver from the FM. Your chain is .835 silver (one step down from .925) and is most likely from Italy.
Thanks Ken for the lovely comment!
Hey Bonnie, thank you, first piece I have ever seen! I must be mistaking FM for something else that I thought was cheap and nasty and advertised on the back of magazines!!! Oh good, thanks Italian silver!!
Thanks for the help, appreciated......
I have always associated FM with bellicose baby statues on the back of mags too Judy! Who knew they did such nice stuff? Not me!
Hey Karen, thanks....I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this......lol!
