This is a rare petite size China Shanghai Diamond electric clock that was popular in the 60s and 70s in Singapore often seen in local coffee shops as well as in homes. They came in 3 sizes and common to see them in cream, green or black. This is the baby one.
The story behind this clock was bitter sweet. A lady that a friend introduced me to, inherited her mother's flat and the contents when her mum passed away about a year ago. She had lived with her parents in that flat for 40 plus years and had a lot of stuff to clear when her last parent died. She decided to keep the flat but do a complete, major renovation and she didn't want to keep ANY of the old stuff even though I kept trying to cajole her to at least keep one or two items and incorporate it into her new renovation theme. She was steadfast in her decision and so I became the lucky beneficiary. I gave this clock a really good clean with a damp rag and it was shining after.
