A circa 1900s hand-enameled uranium glass vase by Karl Pohl (Novy Bor) rendered in the style of Mucha. Strangely, the bottom is faintly marked "Déposé, France," but this may represent a mark made after production then imported to France. It would make some sense that Mucha-inspired pieces would have the greatest market in France at the time, so maybe Karl Pohl had some sort of production agreement with a French retailer for these Mucha-type pieces? Dimensions: 8.5”(H) x 2" (W) at base; 3”(W) at lip.

A similar vase with the same form, but different Mucha-like maiden design can be found in "Collectible Bohemian Glass 1880-1940", by Robert and Deborah Truitt (see page 114, plate 2).

Many thanks to Mike Moir and Warren Galle for the attribution assistance!

Jeff, this is the work of Karl Pohl, who operated a painting and engraving workshop in Novy Bor in the early 1900s (and personally decorated much of the glassware produced there). The Pohl family were also active in the glassworks of Harrach. There is a piece in this same shape (but larger) decorated in the style of Alfons Mucha in "Collectible Bohemian Glass 1880-1940", by Robert and Deborah Truitt (see page 114, plate 2)

      Great piece.
