Since I just saw Dick Tracy tryin' to keep time around here, I thought I'd post this for you.
These shirt pocket pins used to come in detective kits sold in the 30's and probably up to the 70's.
The actual age of this pin is unknown to me and he's pretty dirty? Yuck! I've never tried to clean it because I know what could happen. I wonder if I gently used a q-tip and mineral oil??? What do you think?
Very cool. I would guess early 40's. Probably 42-43.
as Adam said pre-war would be safe guess....love it...and I wouldn't use any oil/solvent....dish soap and q-tip maybe
I little bit of Ivory Liquid and water with a Q-Tip might clean it up a bit. Definitely do not use anything stronger.
Wow crazycharacter, I had no idea he was that old. And thanks for the verification kerry10456! And Uxbridgeite, as for the cleaning, I think I'll just leave him just like he is since he's been around more blocks than I have :)
Hope you all had fun looking at these old characters and just some of the toys I've collected or found over the years. These are the type of things that bring back the good memories! Thanks for all the love;
