Ok, so it's 96 degrees here INSIDE my house in So. Cal so I'm tryin to beat the heat with a few fun memories.
We've got Gumby AND Pokie, together again! These two have no dates on them but they are both marked Perma Toy Co. and Jesco. I know they were on T.V. in the 60's. Other than that, they sit up on a shelf over a window with all the other stuff I've collected over the years.
There's Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Betty Boop and Felix. Not all of it is old, but they all bring back memories!
Not only do you have Gumby and friends but there is a cool fan behind Felix. Has an interesting cage design.
What can I say but COOL !!
(Does that help with the heat issues there? ) LOL

Ahh, fortapache! You are much like me in that, that is exactly what I would have noticed too ;) When I finally decide my dust bunnies have become monsters, I will pull that fan down and do a real post on it! It belonged to my grandmother and it does still work but it gets very hot and I prefer to keep it...

Mine too!!! OMG when I saw these pop up I wondered who else had some of these together??? haha Usually you find someone that has one or the other, now I don't know where either have gone! Maybe they jumped in Felix's bag of tricks or took of to the moon with Marvin the Martian!!! :)))))
lol you have me chuckling ...I miss going to the double drivings in Oceanside and cruising the coast down to SD on Saturdays look to find cool stuff...lol
Is that where you are? My daughter moved from Oceanside about 2 years ago! She found a perfect place right across the street from the beach! I loved it there and used to spend so much time down there... and yes, we traveled southbound to hunt also. Such a great place!
No I'm in NH... move back from Calif early 80's live in Vista / Oceanside / .Carlsbad a for 12 years and another 2 years playing in SD...clicked my heels 3 times and off to home I went ....lol
Ahhhh! My girl has moved to a land of snow too! I miss her so much, but I do miss the beach too. Years ago, I used to live at Venice Beach. I'm tellin you, I went there a few years back and the same damn people are still there! Some guy even asked me, do I know you? I was like... nah, it wasn't me!!! haha
oh ya Muscle Beach comes to mind ..I tried to stay south of La and north of it, like big bear .. and the big forest ,.fun places .. and party at Presidio park ..lol
Yep...I forgot it was called that! And Presidio park??? Why does that sound familiar to me? The one thing I remember about Venice was at dark, everybody got off the streets. A few years back and not one thing has changed there! In fact, when I was still in high school, well ok, when I was ditching, we all used to hop in my friends VW bus and go surfing down to San Clemente! That was a haul from Lynwood. But so fun.
It was a groove place to hand for most locals ..lol .Old Town was right there as well as well the flat bottom speed boat racing across the road ,..and spent a lot of time jumping off the La Jolla Cove sand cliffs ...
