Also known as uranium glass, vaseline glass glows bright green under ultraviolet light, thanks to the uranium oxide added to the glass in its molten state. In natural or indoor light, vaseline glass has a yellow or yellow-green tinge with an oily sheen, which is where its name comes from. Vaseline glass is not to be confused with Custard glass and Burmese glass, which also glow under ultraviolet light. While vaseline pieces are transparent or translucent, these pieces are opaque.
I would like to know when and what company made it.
looks like Anchor Hocking's Block Optic to me. The color is green tho'. Vaseline is, as you state, yellow and original called canary. An oily sheen or feel to glass isn't related to the color or use of uranium to the glass, however. Remember this saying: "If it's green, it ain't Vaseline."
Talk Cakes I put a Black light to it and it glows just like my others. The green you see is caused by the flash from my camera. Sorry the image is so bad.
Anchor Hocking made lots of green uranium glass like this in various depression era patterns; not so much yellow Vaseline glass.
