    BELEM Ship in a Bottle.

A MODEL SHIP CONTAINED IN A RECTANGULAR BOTTLE. The ship is the BELEM, launched in FRANCE IN 1896, and named for the PORT OF BELEM IN BRAZIL. She is one of the FEW VESSELS TO SAIL UNDER THE COLOURS OF THREE DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, FRANCE FROM 1896-1914. Then she became a BRITISH YACHT from 1914 to 1951, then under the Italian flag until 1979 when she was returned to French ownership.
