This is a painting I just picked up at a garage sale today. The older gentleman I acquired it from bought it the last week he was stationed in Germany. Along with 3 others paintings. I would love to know any history on this painting. The artist was very good. And dry clean lines. The painting is about 2 1/2 feet. 3 feet wide. Help. And thanks for looking
Lee
Agh, many thanks
It's hard to look up "Crane" because you just get a bunch of paintings of the birds, but there is one listed on ebay which is eerily similar - the signature is also a little different (which is not uncommon for artists) but is also signed in red. I don't know how to give you link but it is listed as "OIL PAINTING ON CANVAS MOUNTAIN SCENERY SIGNED BY ARTIST CRANE"
Agh, I found the artist. Thank u. Boy r they pricey. Mine was under $20. And love the grey and blues. Thank you
Kevin, many thanks
Hi Lee I got a shock when I had seen this painting as believe it or not had one almost the same or really close to it & yes in the same colouring only mine was smaller. I can't remember the artist but if you were in Australia in 2011 when I sold all my goodies I would of sworn it was the one I sold. Very pretty my frame work was slightly different.
very nice , ha hun u c my bowl
