Not sure what species this is and I can't find a match for it but the closest is the Olive Ridley. Any thoughts out there? Someone coated it with something that has now turned very tacky and it seems to have yellowed the look. I may take the coating off - any thought there? How and should I even try to "clean it up?"
If the coating is tacky it might be fairly easy to remove with the right solvent. If you don't know what the coating is, then you'll have to try different solvents until you find the right one. Just be sure to pick an obscure location to try the solvents on to see if it does remove the coating and doesn't adversely affect the shell itself. Let me know how you make out.
