This is a nice little vase that is a cut above your typical "end-of-day" type piece. Heavy for its size of about 4.5" - it is double cased. Inner layer of yellow that glows bright orange under black light. Middle layer is mottled with red, green, yellow, and blue or black. Outer layer is crystal and is acid dipped to give it a satin finish. Flat bottom; flat cut rim, with gilding and enamels around the top. I'm open to ideas. I've considered Harrach and Legras, but can't find the shape or decor in any of the usual literature. I would also consider other French makers, such as Muller or Daum/Lorrain, who did this type of glass. The vase is unmarked. The shadow on the bottom is where sticker residue was removed.

Hi Warren I was the under bidder on this one . I thought it was Harrach by Julius Jelinek circa 1902- ish . In the Harrach book by Jan Merkl on page 306 it mentions his art work and it looked similar to me . So possibly one of his earliest works for them .
No matter who it is a stunner . the colours remind me of an opal

You might be onto something there, Marty - Harrach was always a contender for me. I'm just not sure enough to make the call. :)

It is always a pleasure to learn from both ozmarty and Warren.
