I have very little information on this item. Patent date I found is for 1905. Manufacturer is Kellogg Switchboard and Supply Company. If anyone has any info or links to more info I would appreciate it. I would also like to eventually restore it. I inherited it from my father who got it from his father. I know my grandfather had worked on it and the holder in the front is not the original.

There are many sites for lovers of these old phones that you can ck. If you need parts for restoration, I have had great success with these people:
      House of Phone
      2677 E. Valley Dr.
      San Angelo, TX 76904-8304
      Ph# 915-482-0101
Sorry, but I don't have an email address but should be easy enough to locate.

Let's see the insides. These phones have great innards. Looks like the main thing you need to do is get the shelf right on it which would not be easy. Personally I like to keep as much of the original finish as possible but to get the shelf and the rest to match that doesn't seem possible.
ttomtucker is the expert, hopefully he will be here soon.

Your kellogg wall phone was manufactured between 1908-1910. By 1908 the hookswitch was moved from the front near the door to the back of the phone.
Kellogg Switchboard & Supply Co. of Chicago started manufacturing switchboards in 1897, three years later they added wall phones and candlesticks to there line. The writing shelf is not a bad reproduction. House of Telephones is no longer in Texas, it is now located in Canada. Google House of Telephones. another source of telephone parts is phoneco.
