This is an Italian maiolica istoriato with a wide border of cherubs and stylized flowers on blue ground, the rim pained in yellow. Dimensions: 29 cm diam. Between the border and the central panel ther is a freeze with white hearts (second picture). In the third and second panels you can see the mark and a detail of the glazed that seem to be rub out and the old device to hang it. I do not know how old is it but mos probably from the last years of the 1800, probably before 1891. It is interesting the relationship with the arts and craft artist of the Cantagalli botega was because " The English influence was so compelling that Florence was styled ‘the Glorious English Florence’, a term supported by major discriminating collectors like Frederick Stibbert, and H.P. Horne, collector and art critic, who both lived in Florence, as well as other men of taste, for example, Lord Carmichael, a passionate collector of Cantagalli, John Ruskin, William Morris, and William De Morgan with whom Ulisse developed a special working relationship" (http://www.thatsarte.com/blog/highlights/cantagalli-the-scottish-dimension/).
Exquisite.
Love it !! :-)
