As long as you pay attention and look carefully one can find sometimes something beautiful. These two causes together with many books I've collected about antique jewelry in this case more special the book: Cut Steel and Berlin Iron jewellery by Anne Clifford convinced me this time that I have found a new treasure namely: this Silesian Iron Wire Work Enemaled Cut Steel (probably) Mourning Brooch (end 18s - early 19s).
As I have already written in my comments on my Silesion Iron Wire work Berlin Iron jewelry this kind of manufacturing is most likely started in Silesian (former Germany, nowadays Poland) the second half of the 18s. This brooch was also made in that period of time. It is a mourning brooch set in Silesian Iron Wire-work in combined with Cut steel.
A similar mourning brooch I found on the site with an also very interesting comment :
    http://artofmourning.com/2014/05/08/berlin-ironwork-jewellery/
where the first brooch shown an almost same kind copy.
Magnetic (iron indeed ) held together by iron rings (see back site of the brooch on photos 2-4).
This mourning brooch is despite its age (over 200 years) very well preserved only a few tiny scratches on the enameled plaque with flowers and leaves. Measurement: 4.5 x 3.5 cm.

What a beautiful new treasure you have it pays to keep our eyes open even when looking for other items. It seems to be when I have the most luck when I'm looking for something different altogether. Be safe & have a good day

A great work of jewelery. It shows that humans can make beauty from what are otherwise considered not beautiful things.
I had not heard of iron jewelery before your posts on it Agram and I find it wonderful.
      Thankyou!

Zowie you are absolutely right! If you just want to have an eye you'll sometimes unexpectedly find beautiful jewelry. In any case I appreciate like that you always have so much interest in my jewelry and of course thanks for loving!

racer4four human hands are capable of much time and effort to create most beautiful things. Previously, labor expense ratio virtually cost hardly nothing. But because time = money in modern times, of course, far too expensive therefore that on jewelry usually not too much time should be spent.
But just that enormous patience professionals spent before besides craftsmanship, is precisely what I admire more in antique jewelry.
Glad I could help you now you also have come to appreciate iron jewelry.. This way we can all learn from each other.
In any case, thank you for your interest and loving.

You have so many beautiful pieces that I enjoy to look at & try & learn from. So many on this site have a great amount of knowledge to learn from & it's always nice to have a bit of help to find out about your own pieces. A lot of my things in time there is a good chance I will sell so it pays to know something about it or them whatever the case may be. Have a safe day to you & yours.

Zowie thank you for your nice positive comment. I like to be able to give structure to fellow collectors in sharing my knowledge about jewelry. The same way you help me with questions about jewelry. So this site is a paradise for lovers of beautiful pieces but also very instructive. It is hoped that we can show beautiful things to enjoy and to learn from each other. So we can work together to build a positive world and that is needed too! I wish you a nice new day !

Thank you Agram.m I have always been told the way to learn is through asking questions. Plus I have always enjoyed looking at your pieces & the information that comes with them. Your variety is all over the board & I have found you have a lot of knowledge. It would be easier face to face as you see the items first hand & can get a better feel for said items. A little kindness can go a long way & in this world today I'm afraid there is not enough of it especially as it is one of those things in this life that is free. Stay positive be safe & happy to you & yours.
