Hello all.
I have a strange necklace which I think is ivory. It seems the links of the necklace could even be ivory, I don't know if this is possible or not. It is a beautiful rose necklace. Has anyone ever seen one like this? Or is it a fake?
You have the real thing!
I Can say it from the lines and texture in picture 2.
Just bought an ivory chain, I will post it soon!
How in the world did they do the links of the chain itself? This piece looks old. Could it be at least 100 yrs old?
If you look closely, one link on two is open!
Ivory when wet is a little stretchable, this allowed the plain link to be introduced... And so on to get a chain, et voilà !
And yes, it could be 100 years old (beginning of 20th century)
see this one (more elaborate, but similar rose flower)

Hello and thanks for the comment. I'm not sure if I want to clean it. Shouldn't ivory with age have this patina? If I choose to sell it, should it look 100 years old without trouble?
