I really love the Cameo's I have seen posted. I would love to own Real Antique Cameo's but I really do not know what they are supposed to look like or what to look for. Please tell me how to know first if it's Antique then if it is real Cameo. Look at the Items I have here and tell me are they real or something else. Thanks.

These are modern/vintage cast resin cameos. (perhaps glass, don't hesitate to feel material with tooth or tongue!)
A big hint is to see, touch, feel the more real stuff you can encounter (reputable antique shops, museums, internet pictures).
The more experience you'll get, the more feelings you will develop :-)
have a look to this site:

Pinterest too is a gold mine for infos if you search ANTIQUE cameos!
      Hope this will help :-)

No way... you MUST use ALL your senses, do you know that in old (very old!) times praticians had to taste their patients urine???
Of course I don't recomand to do this in shops, lol, but with your stuff and a good amount of alcool.... (before or... after, directly in the mouth!)

OH WOW! No I did not know that. I remember as a mechanic. many years ago we made that mistake trying to determine what some liquids were. Or trying to siphon fuel from a vehicle to a can and end up with a mouth full. I don't think I will be doing any tasting especially when I don't know what it's supposed to taste like.

Some plastics taste special, silver taste is caracteristic too (as it's smell when rubbed!)
Lips are a good instrument to feel if the material is cold (like glass, marble) or "warm" (plastic).
Tooth to feel grittiness of real pearls...
Sure there is plenty of tricks like that!

Smelling is also a good device to detect ivory, bronze and other materials.
