Does anyone recognize the markings or staining on the base? it's kind of pretty but has some hardwater stains that seem hard to get out. another Goodwill find.

I don't do pottery normally but this something special! Beautiful design.
thank you Gracay2004!
Certainly in the French "gres" tastes, but I suspect it may be domestic. Hard to say it's production date. Regardless, I love it!
I know that vinegar added to tempid water does wonders for glass, even with stubborn stains- you may have to let it sit over night, would it do the same for these??? I don't see why not...The smell does not last and is actually gone right after the rinse.
thank you shareurpassion, cogito, nutsaboutas6! i'll try the vinegar and let you know how it works.
Do you guys have *CLR* (remover) there? Or is that a Canadian thing??

beautiful!! love it ho2!!
yes antiquerose, we do have clr here and it does sort of work for light staining. thanks sean68. i almost threw this piece away. it sure has attracted a lot of 'loves' here!
Its a recent Chinese import - the kind sold at Garden Ridge, Hobby Lobby & Michael's. Not trying to poop on the parade, sorry. It does have a nice glaze. You may find the hard water scaling is actually the interior finish and won't come off. Often the interior on these pieces is unglazed.
thank you art.pottery. i had that feeling. the staining on the bottom reminds me of other recent pieces from China which have fooled me and others. the hardwater stains are on the outside of the vase.
