Another typically Sanyu vase.
They seemed to use very appealing colours in their glass, with clear colours and a general avoidance of the strident reds and yellows of some Japanese glass.
This blue is beautiful, and with the thick clear casing it really swims.
Like other Japanese factories, Sanyu made ribs and swirls with the casing but theirs are generally very thick and deep, so the optics are amazing.
This one is a similar height to my previous Sanyu post at 17cm (6.5in) but has a much bigger presence due to it's girth.
It weighs an impressive 1.9 kg
Impressive girth, always a good thing!
Wow....where do you find all of these? Are these all new finds??
Thanks again Ken! Appreciate your time and comments.
Rose - yes these are all quite new acquisitions.
I have bought a few recently direct from Japan.....they start cheap but with agent costs and post they aren't really, so I am only buying a select few.
That looks so familiar.....let me think. I'll let you know when it comes to me. lol. It is beautiful!
This one will look even more familiar Dean!
