neat good timekeeping big ol pocket watch,..has a double sunk dial with some serious chipping,..but only set me back 20 bucks at the same garage sale as i snagged the Bulova,..was made soo far back that i think,..from how the print looks it was hand painted,..nice precision work there,..beautifuly damascened movement hard to photograph wil try again later,..if i get a decent one ill put iit in,..its called a Maximus movement has 23 jewels ,..serial number 10587896 and another reason i like to get up early on Saturdays and goto garage sales,..and again what have you got thats new that you can look at and say ,.yep in 111 years its gonna be still working,..depressing aint it?
Wow! $20.... Very nice high grade "railroad" pocket watch. Easily worth 20 times what you paid for it. Shawnicus, I'm shoppin with you the next time you go...lol...
thanks everybody , sometimes you get lucky and sometimes it feels like your actualy supposed to go someplace,.this was on of those,., and toolate ..REALY? i knew it was a pretty movement but i figured with the chipped dial it wasnt worth as much,..seems to be a rock solid timekeeper ,.are RR grade movements that much more valiuable? ,..not knockign your knowlege just lookign to expand my own!
An amazing find, great watch!
