Found this for only $25 at a local estate sale. It seemed pretty heavy duty, so we grabbed it.
When we took it into the local sewing machine shop, the guy was so excited about it. We had no idea it was so heavy duty.
We had him go through it completely but ended up spending too much on it, so we probably won't keep it for too long. Looks nice for now.
Pfaff could be considered one of the best engineered machines ever made.
Me - I would use it! Won't hurt at all.......you could probably make sails on it!

Let's start with that brand name: Pfaff.
The very sight of a word starting with "Pf" makes the average non-German think "Wut."
A leading "Pf" can indeed be a difficult sound to pronounce for anybody not born to it, and to make matters worse, it's pronounced differently in different regions of German. However, there's help.
Sewing machine maker George Michael Pfaff was born, raised, and died in Kaiserslautern, Germany, which is in a region known as the "Pfalz":

In the Pfalz, that "f" nestled up against the leading "P" isn't pronounced. Indeed, my long-ago landlady in the Pfalz who used to work for Pfaff pronounced it "Pahff."
So don't let anybody give you grief if you ignore that first "f." };-)
