Please moderators, can you fix my photo issues and when are you going to fix this major problem? Thank you.
Don't think this is classed as Adventurine as it doesnt have the ribbing? Am I right? Fran, this ones for you...to figure out I meant...lol...
And yes I didnt post the pontil as I wanted to show the stupidity of ebay Shipping Services....
1) a huge box that costs more to send so therefore I pay a higher shipping charge
2) no postage cost shown on stamps so you dont know how much the seller paid?
3) the seller makes on average 25% out of the deal by using ebay shipping service.
4) no return address from the seller so have no idea where the package came from
What sellers and ebay fail to realise is once I pay for the item I should have the right to have the box shipped in the manner I wish, not what suits the lining of the executives pockets at Pitney Bowes (they run ebays shipping service). They charge on average 50% more than regular sends and ever tried to locate something? Or speak to them? very poor standard of customer service and profiteering by ebay and PB.
Its a real shame as the product had potential. But now that USPS have introduced tracking on their First Class postage you really have no reason to use Priority unless you need the product urgently. Fortunately this sale was paid as First Class because thats what I asked for but many customers arent given a chioce.
I don't sell overseas but can tell you that on sales within the US, ebay shipping is CHEAPER and EASIER than any other method:
1) Cost is DISCOUNTED from USPS rate and FREE tracking (Cheaper)
2) Print directly from ebay (Easier than going to USPS)
I suspect that the bigger box MAY have been used to protect your Glass item.
scott
no relevance to my situation Scott as I order from US to Australia.
Thanks anyway.
No the bigger box was 20 times the size of the glass item. Ive shipped all over and received well over 400 items from US and UK and the issue with PB is they have std boxes that dont cater for all.
It's trying to break in to a market but is very frustrating to deal with.
I hope you like my jug...
Anne
I do like the glass.
I don't participate in "global shipping"-- seller profits on the shipping? Seems to contradict one of ebays standard policies!

Nice - Anne, I have seen worse - I remember someone posting a picture of a dolls house vase (1:12 scale) sent in a shoebox.
My (amongst the) worst (collecting) moments are when something arrives and is "crunchy" as the postie hands it over. I want glass, not lego. I have also had something wrapped in just plastic clingfilm (kitchen stuff) in an envelope arrive - miraculously - damage-free.
I agree with postage - you get a feel for UK but more difficult for overseas.
Agree Ian. And the worst I had was a very unususal Wedgwood vase which I had been chasing for some time and was to be hubbies anniversary present.
Turned up wrapped in one layer of tissue paper and smashed to smithrines. I was heartbroken. Then got angry because all the effort that had gone in to making this beautiful object from 1870 had been destroyed in an instant by someones ability to be cheap and not think about consequence.
It's one of the thing that amases me with my collection when admiring it. It survive all those years.A lot of my items are 1830-1890's. All those years, all those miles. And no one can replicate them, even if they tried because of the time they were made. I become very emotional when spending time researching, seeing photos of the workers painting or drawings. And the distance we make these items travel. This week I was hinking too, we are just the custodians. We don't really own them, just having time with them. They will go on to somewhere else and become someone's. They live on..ah the stories they could tell. I love seeing some antiques you buy and they have lovely hand written nots by the first or subsequent owners;outlining the dates, the maker and the story as to why they came in to their possession.
Thank you Scott for liking my glass..most kind..I just adore the colours..a cheap and cheerful lot that brought me great joy on a rather mserable day!...lol...miss you all..
Its a beauty Anne, i wish i could help. I'd guess Czech/Bohemian but that'd be it, & I'd probably be wrong, lol. I can't understand why anyone would send items badly packed! They're like my babies going off to another home. And as for p&p costs, well, they make no sense at times at all!
Have you tried cropping the photos (even if they don't need it, just a bit) and loading them again?
I thanks for the kind words Fran..speaking of packages, cannot wait for mine to arrive..they might even arrive in time for the new gabby due on the 22nd...
I don't know how to drop well at least not on the iPhone or iPad, but I'll give it a go on the laptop or try the desktop..just can't understand why it just happened overnight...
