I was just wondering if this picture of president Abraham Lincoln would be considered important or commonplace. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas I would love to hear them.

Wow that looks interesting.
Thanks Peasejean55
Your photograph is called a carte de visite or CDV-- these were highly collected during the Civil War era. They were collected in a manner similar to baseball cards.
It is common to find CDVs of the famous in Civil War photograph albums-- Lincoln and General Officers.
Your particular CDV is a lithographic view and fairly common. The photographic "from life views" are eagerly sought.

Scott,
Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me. I appreciate it.

Glad to help out.
Any other photos in the album? I'd be interested in seeing any others.

Scott,
That is the only picture in that album box. I do have some old pictures around here. I could dig some up tomorrow if you are interested.
It is up to you-- I collect and deal in antique images and never tire of looking at them!
It is all in the content. The bust shots of typical folks are the least desirable-- but small details can really enhance desirability and collectibility.
I have a lot of antique photograph postings on here-- if you have the inclination, take a look.
scott
Scott I will do that. Thanks.
