Mid Century Daybed (any ideas?)

Unfortunately I do not know much about this daybed. The woman I purchased it from said it was her grandparents and she had been storing it in her basement for about 30 years. It did have straps that had disintegrated. It also came with the original cushions that I could not take with me because of extreme allergies. The bed was in very rough shape and the cushions were thick with dust. I believe all of this is original except the hinges looked like they have been replaced. I will need to replace the hinges and put new straps on the piece.

I would like to give this to one of my adult daughters… Trying to figure out if I should invest in good cushions.
