I believe it is a 1920 Singer Sewing Machine. It has a single letter prefix serial #, G-8.229.064. It was a family item passed down through the generations. It started in the hands of my great grandmother, to my grandmother, to me. It has been in kept in great condition and had not been used for many years. While it may be old, it still works great and has all the accessories still included.
Your machine is very nice, you are very lucky to have received it throught your family.
I had no family who sewed, so I started collecting and refurbishing about 6 months ago.

Welp, as long as SarahLM (Hi, SarahLM) brought this old vintage sewing machine (VSM) post back to the front page of Collectors Weekly SHow & Tell with a love, I might as well do a bit of backfilling on it. :-)
The late great Bernadette did a basic model and vintage identification of the sewing machine head.
To that, I would add that it probably rolled off of the assembly line some time between the allotment date of its block (August 5 1920), and that of the next block of serial numbers intended for model 15 sewing machine heads (November 3 1920):

World War I was over, so Singer was probably going full bore on production for its civilian customer base.
The specific sub-model of 15 is probably either the 15-30 or the 15-80, because of the spoked wheel and the knob stitch length mechanism on the pillar (scroll down):
