Hi,
We have had this typewriter in our attic for a number of years. Think we bought it from an antique shop or similar but can't remember.
I have checked references to Hammond typewriters on the web but can't seem to find any details of this one. Does anyone have any information?
It is approx 21cm wide and 27cm deep and has "The Hammond Typewriter Co. Sole Distributors New York" on the carriage, "NATIONAL" above the keys and "National Typewriter No. 3" on the front frame.
Regards,
Glyn
Here is a typewriter collector on CW: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/user/typewritercollector
It's a national typewriter made by the national typewriter company. They made three models of this machine and this looks like no. 3. It says Hammond on it because it was most likely sold or repaired by a hammond dealer at one point. Not a real common piece, could fetch somewhere in the range of $300.
