I collect Salt & Pepper Shakers along with many other things not sure why. The First ones are Vintage 70s GEMCO Pantry Pops Colorful Blue Green Glass Salt & Pepper Shakers. Gemco Ware Inc. operated as an independent company from 1948 to 2003, and at different times was based in Hauppauge and Freeport, New York. Gemco was acquired by the Lifetime Hoan Corporation which also owns the Farberware and Pfaltzgraff brands. Gemco's products are a diverse array of glass food containers and dispensers.
I can't tell you anything about most of my other ones maker and year wise. Is it true that if it has a cork it is fairly old? How can I tell what would be an Antique.
Thanks Jewels & Sean
Hi Bigsarge, my local antiques dealer has dozens of salt and pepper shakers, do you collect any in particular that you want me to look out for?
Regards William.
Thank you very much Gracay but that would kill the thrill of the hunt for me. I look for old and unusual, try not to pay more than a dollar a pair if possible. I look for them to have or had cork stoppers. I seem to think they are the older ones even if they are not. Also silver and crystal. Thanks again.
No problem, happy hunting!
