    This is a sad reminder of war. The U.S. soldier captured this Japanese flag in Luzon in July of 1945, and proudly posed with the flag for this picture. The flag used as a backdrop is the very flag he is holding in the photo. There is also a photo of him with another soldier, as well as his military I.D. card. Several days after the photo was taken this soldier was killed in action and his personal effects were shipped home to his sister who kept them until several years ago when she decided to part with them. This is a moving tribute to all the men and women who served in the armed forces in order to keep us safe.
