Its beautiful !! & a nightmare to to date !! I had the same problem with a piece I have , different people different answers , the only way is possibly a museum or youll have to pay for a professional ;-)) good luck :-))
Looks to be chinese !!
iagree i think it is beautiul to, and you are right i am in a nightmare ,haha
apraisels are crazy expensive i found out, figures.haha
talking to people i have 17 cent to 19 cent.those are a lot of years, hmmmm
i did find a almost identical in a auction house in california it looked 95% the same only some of the verry top banner and top was different.
they had theirs labeld as Qian Long period- Qing dynasty 1736-1796. 17.5"H x 11"D (12 Lbs. weight)
mesurments and weight are about right.
all i know is that i love it but wish i could know something about it
nobody is allowed to touch it.lol
if somebody breaks it they are moving out with the pices in their hand, haha
i have a diffrent one with no top that i bought at the same time . i will post that one to, it is the same mistery then this one.yup
very clear photos would help a lot. if you don't have the right camera equipment, maybe a friend could take the pics for you. there are several online sites which will respond to questions regarding Asian ceramics. this looks to be a really beautiful piece and might be worth your while...
i thought pictures where clear ,no?
the not so clear one is facing into the jar and lid
but i can repost with better pictures,?
The trouble is with oriental china is that they made the vases & other pottery in the style of the older pottery, not to decieve but in respect of the ancients, some they even mark with the old marks like the one I have listed....
they have always done this so it makes it a mare to i.d
especially just by photos !!
If they were mine and someone broke them they'd be hobbling out with sharp pieces up their arse...... lol.. ;-) like I said before - good luck
The real experts will like to see and feel the objects before they'll tell you anything!!
oh my, you just made me laugh out loud
by the way if my writing is a litle off is cause i am german.haha
just so you dont think
what did she pay attention at in school :)
Hi Eve14 your writings fine !! Well its better than my German !! Lol
I could give you a preliminary dating for free: Daoguang period (1820 to 1850). You have to give me high quality photos and $$$ for more information.
Kidding.... enjoy.

I meant I did it for free, no charge. Don't worry, I have 90% confidence it is what I said.
i was just kidding shrine,and i wish i could say i have 90 percent confidence but i have 0.lol
