Found this big brooch at Volunteers of America. It had a chain wired to it to wear as a pendant as the pin had broken off. All that is left is part of the clasp. It measures 2 3/4" across. The six faux moonstones are surrounded by faux seed pearls and various shapes of rhinestones. Not a mark anywhere on the back. Maybe it was on the pin. I do have a piece that is marked that way. It appears well made so it could be a good company but I'm not sure if it's vintage or a reproduction. -Mike-
Thanks eye... and costume jewelry is a space saver too. I have way too much of the big stuff at this point. However that hasn't stopped me yet..lol.
Oh yes,,, the right designer piece of Trifari can be worth thousands. Antiques Roadshow BBC had a piece by a famous designer who also made the same piece with real gems. So the costume piece was worth a lot too as being the prototype for the real one.
Very beautiful !!!!!
very beautiful!!
It is beautiful!
I have bought some "silver" recently that I am almost sure is not at all what it appears to be. There are forgeries of famous costume pieces, too, but most of them never pretend to be something they are not. Costume jewelry is so much fun and I love the jewelry pieces for what they are.
I enjoy looking at your pieces!
Thank you everyone for the loves and comments :)
