Hey. I'm new to decoy collecting and just trying to get some hints as how to identify the ducks, makers, etc. This is, I believe, an old black duck decoy. It measures just over 17" long and is 7 1/2" wide. The head attaches separately with a screw from the underside. There are no marks that I can find anywhere. It looks similar to old LL Bean ducks that I've seen, just unsure. Typically, are there distinct designs to certain makers and regions? I assume I have a lot of learning to do...
