    I purchased this at a multifamily yard sale, so I have no idea what it could be. Looks like it might have been broken off of a larger piece, because it doesn't rest properly on its own. I can't tell if there's a makers mark on the bottom or if its just a busted area of metal.

    The circumference is about the size of a half dollar, maybe a bit larger, its resting on my windowsill in the pictures.

    I am very curious what it could be and if it is old, I think it might be, because the piece is not uniformly made, and has a nice patina to it. Either way, I like it, but I'm really curious what it is!

      Thanks for the love imander ... i wish I had a clue what it was, the mods have moved it twice, so it must be really peculiar... does anyone think it is old, or do you think I'm being fooled by something made to look older? I don't know anything about antiques at all, so maybe there is something obvious I'm not picking up on?
