This is the year that of the firey crash that took the lives of Dave Macdonald & Eddie Sachs. A.J. Foyt when on to when the race. I have a friend that is the grandson of Johnny White Rookie of the year of this same year 1963. He has the rookie of the year ring and wears it every day. crazy!
You're close but sorry.. no cigar. The race you refer to with the deaths of Macdonald and Sachs was in 1964!
