I recently celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary with the lovely and talented , and saw this while hunting for treasure, and had to get it to mark the occasion!
The boss didn't really care for the piece , until I found the perfect place for it next to our tub!
These have been made for years, starting in the 1930's, not sure of exact date, but they reissue them from time to time. The reissue price is quite high compared to auction results I've found.

I first tried researching Rosenthal 40 years ago when I was in Germany. Well before computers or the Internet. Today the iron curtain is gone and databases are growing. Here is a site for you with Rosenthal marks. I think you need to scroll down to the 1960's to find your mark. If all else fails and you are dissatisfied contact the owner of the site for assistance. Hope this helps.

We have quite a few Rosenthal piece s that we inherited, incl an entire Maria pattern serving and dinner setting for 16.

Before computers researching stuff was next to impossible. Now it is easier I am to old to give a darn. Just my luck.
you got that right fhrjr, now we are all expert's if you know how to look stuff up. this piece I Googled right there at the show, saw the going price on these and offered him half, which he quickly accepted! Guess he'd had it long enough!.
