Pearl Earrings in Wire-like setting~1/4" dia Pearl~Mystery Mark

Hello Again,
I've always loved pearls, but don't know much about them. I bought these yesterday. They glowed from the case that they were displayed in, capturing my attention.
The setting's peculiar but interesting. the pearls measure 1/4" of an inch in diameter.
I was told by my friend at the store that they were brought in by a woman from Chatham who had bought them in the 60's in Hong Kong.
He didn't know anything about them, hadn't examined the mark and couldn't tell me any more.
I'm hoping that Moonstonelover or someone else here can provide a little more information about them.
and the mark, hopefully someone will recognize it.
