This is my most recent find it purchased from someone demoing a house found in the wall. First looks to be an Antique Seattle Police Badge also a Police Journal dated 1908 that has actual hand written police reports and incidents. The other is an gift to the officer awarded by the Los Angeles Police Dept. in 1918. I also have other items connected to the officer photos passport etc. The Badge though is the one that Is a mystery to me. Police 139 Seattle in smaller letters at the top...Seattle "Enterprise" Wash. The back on the bottom of the badge is stamped Sterling though it's faded. Has anyone got knowledge of this badge?

I found something similar at Policeguide.com looks to have made by Pacific Emblem Co. The one they have also dates from 1918-1932 made of sterling with enamel but the one here is different and more ornate. I was told to contact the Seattle Police Musuem.

Thanks Rip I just was contacted by a collector/expert and he hasn't seen it but he really really likes it. He told me the Value is Northwards of a Grand $$!! Wow I didnt expect that. I personally think it's a great piece but the journal and the stories is my favorite.

Is there any hallmarks on its back?
    4. whitman75 whitman75, 10 years ago
Other than it being Marked Sterling there isn't other hallmarks I see. I was just informed by an expert this badge is in the Seattle Police Museum they have 2 there r 2 more that a private collector has and this is the only other to surface this far that is in Public hands that is known... So I was told.

Just wanted to share this Piece will be going the Seattle Police Museum within the next few weeks where it will prominently displayed for many others to view rather than in a private collection. I was told this is the only one like they have seen and it might be a prot0type.

Guys I had some moral issues on this and unfortunately in my case family comes first and this piece looks like it may end up in private hands sadly rather than at the Museum. I imagine we have all found items that we have been torn on what to do with and who to sell it to. I have the outmost respect for the men and women who serve this great country and what they sacrifice. God bless

What an awesome find, it's good to have a friend in the demolition business all types of treasure hidden in the walls.

Wow what a great find. I was excited to see you were going to take it to the Seattle Police Museum and then the moral issues. Still this is a great find and am glad it will be preserved.

It's a very rare badge and I was happy to purchase it from whitman75 for the Policeguide.com badge display where it is still located.
