    This watch was left to us by my grandmother from Germany. This watch has 254 diamonds, around 37 rubies, and 24 sapphires. Can anyone give me any information about its history or value?

      I've always found it best to go to the horses mouth,so to speak.

      Thank you Savochina1, I did go to the horses mouth and they wanted 300 swiss francs (about $325.00 US) to look it up! Sorry but I just dont want to spend $325.00 to tell me about the watch. Just was hoping some of the experts out there would have an idea. Thanks anyway.

      You can call the concierge @ 1-877-552-1833 but they prefer you use the website. You will need to register, then go Archive. There is a fee for this service.

      Oops...just missed you. Google Jaeger-LeCoultre there is a lot of info. Based on what I could you may be looking at six figures. This is the sort of watch they put on Antiques Roadshow at the end of the show !

      Thanks again Savoychina1! I will try searching for info from google but it will probably come from an expert in vintage watches. I thingk it might be a custom watch. I hope you are right about the six figures. It is feasible because there are 254 diamonds which are worth something!

      Mikeb, I talked to a dealer. They said the serial number should be on the back of the watch. From that, a Jaeger LeCoultre dealer in your area should be able to look up the model number. Good luck and let us know what you find out !

      Savoy, thanks for your help. We put the watch in the safe deposit vault at the bank and when I get a chance will look up the number. I have been searching all over with no luck but you have been very helpful. Thanks again and when I find out all the information I will let you knkow.,Mike

      Hi Flea;
      I am in NY. I contacted both Sotheby's and Bonhams. Bonhams is very interested in the watch and Sothebys ,is not. Dont know why because I saw many lesser watches on their auction sites. Yes I know that the red gems are not glass. They are rubies, and the blue ones are sapphires. Of course the diamonds are real. all 254 of them!

      Flea; Grandma was a high class lady. She loved nice jewelery and had many beautiful pieces. The watch was just one of them. She bought the watch from a close friend in Germany that needed the funds at the time (around 1968). She passed away in 1995 and my mother has had it in the safe deposit box since then. \The watch face is around the size of a dime. It is a small faced watch but the surrounding diamonds are nice sized.

      No we dont have the name. It was 42 years ago. I am sure she is long gone. My grandmother is gone 15 years so we cant track it down. I would guess the larger of the stones are about 1/10 -1/8 a carat. and there are about 60 of those the rest are smaller. I will take pictures again next time in Florida in about Oct. If you click on the pic, it zooms in

      Also the white gold is 18k and it is the watch and bracelet 18k

      Not yet flea. But I have some number from the back of the watch. First there are the numbers 0730 or 0750 and then 26034 (serial?) and 18k, any info? Bonhams will see the watch mid August.

      I am goingt to bring the watch to Bonhams for them to appraise and talk about auction. I have been on the vintage watch forum and it has given me some information on the watch. It also might be a custom piece and they are looking into the serial number for possible history of the watch. Will let you know when I do.

      I am on gmail. We can share our auction house experiences if you like. Hint: My email addie is not merely "flea"

      I think maybe those larger diamonds are a tad larger than your guesstimate maybe.

      Be careful out there.
