This is our "new" diner area from the so-called Biedermeier period.
The Biedermeier period in the German / Austrian (art) history, roughly from 1815 (the Congress of Vienna) to the revolutionary year 1848. As in other European countries, this was a period of bourgeois reaction and political restoration. The style corresponds to the Biedermeier style in the German-speaking lands, Federal style in the United States and to the Regency style in Britain. The previous style was called Louis XVI style, in France.
These are furniture from this period. Eaten after long years of fun with a dining area of a later date is our choice now anyway cases (how could it be otherwise with a love for many things from the past) on this antique dining area.
The chairs are beautifully line with lovely carved wooden comb on top and the table has a beautifully crafted foot. All four seats are decorated with another stunning carved "branch" and the imposing table (4) leg is beautifully carved and made out of walnut.
We are very pleased with this wonderful asset and hope to have many enjoyable meals to consume.
Just beautiful walnut. I hope you and your loved ones make many, many special memories seated at this table.
