Typically for Japanese 1960s glass this vase is a tad large and heavy.
Labeled ArtGlass, it has been made from a dull red glass with green, yellow, crimson and black glass overlay.
I love the way they have manipulated the glass so the exterior looks painted.
The whole thing has a very thick casing of clear.
This style was very popular in Japan for a while and most of the bigger glass works produced vases in this style.
However these ArtGlass vases have a very particular "look" that gives them a pop art graphic feel.
The primary coloured vase in the third photo is in another post.
This vase here is 36cm (14in) and weighs 4.2kgs (yep!)
stunning!!
Love it learning so much! Thankyou

Thank you to Sean, Sklo, Dandy and Virginia for the comments and love!
