    A four inch long military knife Army or Navy One blade cutting
    One tin opener. and a spike which could be used in Army for
    Horses hoofs any foreign object. And in Navy to untie or Loosen knots .
    made in Adelaide South Australia by Whittingslowe .
    Engraved with D arrow D which stood for Department of Defence. .

      The spike would be referred to in nautical as a fid or marlinespike. Could easily be used on land for untying knots, cleaning hooves etc..

      Marlinspike don't get old though the alternative is not good.
