This doll was among my mother-in-law's things when she died. I've had her now for about 20 years, but I don't know anything about her - including where or when my mother-in-law (Millie) may have gotten her. I do know that Mille was from the West Virginia, and that she and her husband were stationed in France in the 50's. She had three sons, so I suspect that she got the doll before the mid-50's. I believe the doll also had some sort of furry coat or cape or wrap, but I no longer have that. I'd forgotten about the doll until yesterday when I was going through things I'd stored away years ago. I'd be interested to know if anyone might provide some information about her.
Hi Mimi, have you looked this doll over for any markings, usually on the back of the neck/head area?
Doll is composition so dating no later than 40's . Size of doll and body construction helps id it also what he is wearing. Please add more photo's :-) and as Jewels asked look at back of neck or mid back for markings .
Thanks, Manikin and Jewels, for your comments. I haven't looked at the back of her neck or on her mid-back for markings - I will do that, and add more photos in the next day or two!
