Marx Company ~the "Old Jalopy" from the late 1920s & 30s.
Reference from the Sears catalog of the 1920s;
Made of stamped sheet metal, had a wind-up mechanism.
Measures : 7" long x 4" wide x 4" high.
Based on Ford Model T (or Tin Lizzie).
Body has graffiti "phrases" that were in style for that time period.
Marx made several variations of the Tin Lizzie:" Limping Lizzie", Campus Express, and the one that I own, "Old Jalopy".
The front hood & engine gear was missing. But I love the paint
& body. I paid $10.
I recently found a working gear that fits.
Now to locate a shop that "fixes" tin autos !
