here is a Broyhill Brasilia display case that I found at an antique mall here in FL. I suspect it's from the later, "II" collection, but I can't find reference to it. Anyone know? I have heard there were other pieces that were not in the catalogs, so perhaps this is one. Does anyone think it would have more value for that reason, even if it's from the lesser valued "II" collection? Maybe there is a "secret list" of those items that were produced but not in the catalogs....
beautiful!!
cool display cabinet.... love it ;-]
It is original Brasilia, not Brasilia II. We have this piece in our home near Seattle. You can tell by the model numbers. But it is not in the catalog and there is absolutely no reference to it. If you check the model numbers on the back though, on original pieces the first 4 numbers of the model always end in 0. With Brasilia II, they end in 1. I have only seen one other of these, and I happened across it on someone's twitter page, but never found it again. It seems to be a particularly rare item.
We honestly thought it was a "sample" piece that never got put into full production, and thought we might actually have a unique piece. But still...there can't be many out there!!!!
But I can pretty much assure you, its original, and not II.
As for other pieces not in the catalog, we know of at least one coffee table. I will have to see if i can locate a picture of it, but we have seen 2. One in person at an estate sale (already sold before we could get hands on it) and one on ebay. Those are really the only 2 that I personally know of that are not in the catalog.
Hope that helps!
